Arnavat- Arguments Based on Ethos

Would You Let Her Watch Your Dog?

We grew up watching Amanda Bynes on All That, The Amanda Show, She’s The Man, and even Hairspray. She won awards in the category of ‘favorite television actress’ four times in a row, ‘favorite movie actress’ two times in a row, and other awards from Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. But where has she been lately? After she finished working on the production of Easy A, she took a turn for the worst and starting getting in trouble with the law. It first started off when she crashed into a police car, and it set off a spiral of events that included hit and runs and dabbling with drugs. And right before she was sent into a psychiatric facility for help, she “accidentally” drenched her dog in gasoline and almost lit him on fire.
In 2013 it was reported that Amanda was holding her dog while she lit her driveway on fire. Once she noticed that her dog was covered in gasoline she ran to a local liquor store to try to wash the gasoline off in the sink. But why did she set fire to her driveway anyways? Amanda was later sent to a psychiatric hospital where even though Amanda said that it was an accident, the doctors concluded that she needed serious professional help. So, the police gave Amanda’s dog to her parents for protection.
Amanda Bynes may have been a good actress, but she has poor judgment. If she can barely take care of herself, what makes you think that she can take care of the life of her dog?

  1. That's really sad, and what you said is so true-- you should definitely have your own life in order before you have a baby or get a pet. They can't fend for themselves, so they need a responsible person to depend on.
So many celebrities (especially child stars) end up like Amanda, and to be honest, I think it's also kind of sad how becoming famous can transform people so drastically. What is it about fame that does this to normal people?
